Hello,
Thank you again to all of you that have supported my efforts in the Livestrong Challenge.
I’d like to take a moment to give you an update.

First the good news - My mom is doing well and her breast cancer is in remission.

Now the bad news- My good friend Tom, whom I rode with at the Livestrong Challenge two years ago, lost his battle with brain cancer on October 24th. Since our meeting three years ago, he has been such a great inspiration to me. His friend Andi posted a very nice story about his last days on Tom's Blog

He will be missed.

The same day I found out about Tom’s passing, I received an email from Lance Armstrong Foundation announcing the 2009 Livestrong Challenge. As you may recall, I had hoped to ride with Tom again on my Challenge ride in 2008. Although that was not to be, I know his spirit will be riding right beside me in 2009! Livestrong and cycling was such an important part in his life. In fact, through the Dream Foundation, Tom received a surprise phone call from Lance Armstrong himself. He was able to humbly carry on a conversation with the man who had been such an inspiration to TOMSTRONG.

So on the first of December, I signed up the TOMSTRONG team and hope that you will continue your support to fight cancer. Better yet, if you feel up to a challenge, come join the team!
